Instable political, economical and religious structures are main sources of conflicts, especially in developing countries. Terrorism and war affect millions of people and cause emergency situations. Environmental disasters, such as the Tsunami of 2004, earthquakes in Haiti and Pakistan, floods in the Philippines or hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico are statistically increasing over time and have a more and more devastating impact on our planet.
Funds are needed not only for immediate professional help such as medical treatment, food and water distribution or the building of refugee camps but also for prevention of future disasters.
